Low pressure forward acting rupture discs are commonly constructed as a multi-layer composite assembly consisting of:

Working Principle
During normal operation, the rupture disc remains intact and seals the process. Unlike safety relief valves, rupture discs do not reseal after activation and must be replaced after bursting.
